Aqaba, May 6 (Petra)--Director of Aqaba Police, Colonel Firas Al Saoub, said that 7 people were killed and 225 people injured as a result of 874 traffic accidents in the Aqaba Governorate during the first 4 months of this year, referring to the efforts of the Public Security Department ( PSD) to curb traffic accidents.
He added during a ceremony on the World Traffic Day and the Arab Traffic Week in Aqaba on Sunday, that the PSD works through holding seminars and awareness lectures to acquaint members of the local community with traffic rules to prevent traffic accidents.
In 2018, 37 people were killed and 489 injured in 2,526 traffic accidents in Aqaba, he said.
