Mongolia dispatches 1,000 firefighters to battle huge bushfires


(MENAFN) Local authorities declared that about 1,000 firefighters have been called to control a forest fire that erupted Tuesday in north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region.

The fire erupted in the Haosengou forest farm in the city of Arxan of Hinggan League.

Around 450 firefighters from the autonomous region's forest fire station and further 500 local firefighting forces have been dispatched to the frontline as of Wednesday afternoon.

An aerial survey revealed that the blaze spread is about 18 km wide, as 2 choppers have also been deployed in the battle the fire.
