Turkish serviceman killed in northern Syria

A Turkish serviceman was killed in northern Syria in the territory liberated as part of Euphrates Shield Operation, Trend reports referring to Turkish Ministry of National Defense.

The serviceman was killed as a result of shelling of a convoy by PYD / YPG, the Syrian wing of the Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) terrorist group. As a result of the incident, three more Turkish servicemen were injured.

On August 24, 2016, units of the Turkish Armed Forces launched the Euphrates Shield Operation against the "Islamic State", and liberated, with the support of the Syrian opposition, Al-Bab town and the border town of Jarablus in northern Syria.

On January 20, 2018, Turkish Armed Forces together with the Free Syrian Army launched the Olive Branch Operation in Afrin, Syria.
