Kuwait delivers last tranche of donation to Croatia Islamic ctr.

(MENAFN - Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) By Mubarak Al-Hajri VIENNA, April 25 (KUNA) -- The remaining part of Kuwait's contribution to establishing Croatia's Islamic cultural center in the city of Sisak has been handed over, Kuwait's Ambassador to the Czech Republic Rashid Al-Hajri said on Thursday.
Al-Hajri made the statement to KUNA after meeting with head of the Islamic Community in Croatia Mufti Aziz Hasanovic.
Since its independence and in line with its foreign policy, Kuwait has been offering humanitarian assistance to many countries, Al-Hajri noted.
This policy is part of the country's leading and outstanding role in backing charitable work, it pointed out.
Kuwait's varied efforts are in accordance with the directives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, a Humanitarian Leader, aiming to support brothers and sisters everywhere, he said.
Meanwhile, Hasanovic lauded Kuwait's part in backing charitable projects in many countries across the globe.
Speaking to KUNA over the telephone, he expressed his sincere appreciation and gratitude to Kuwait's contributions to building the center.
The Mufti also commended His Highness the Amir role in providing aid to siblings all over the world.
The center's cost is estimated at USD 500,000. It includes a mosque, halls for meetings, lectures and Qur'an as well as housing units for Imams. Number of Muslims in Croatia constitutes 1.5 percent of the population totaling four million. (end)
