Amman, April.24 (Petra) -- HRH Prince Ali bin Al-Hussein, President of the Jordan Football Association (JFA), on Wednesday received Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki Al-Faisal, President of the Saudi General Sport Authority and President of the Saudi Arabian Olympic Committee.
The meeting discussed ways of cooperation and coordination between the Jordanian and Saudi sides regarding football in particular.
Prince Ali bin Al Hussein commended the great progress the Saudi sport has witnessed, especially in football, stressing the strong relationship between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, and the need to organize joint programs to serve both sides.
Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki visited the Jordan Olympic Committee's Olympic Preparation Center, in the presence of HRH Princess Zeina Rashed, President of the Olympic Preparation Program, and Nasser Al Majali, Secretary General of the Jordanian Olympic Committee.
Prince Abdulaziz checked on the center's facilities, which is the first of its kind in Jordan to provide an ideal training environment for Jordanian athletes within high standards.
He expressed his admiration for the services provided by the center to a large segment of Jordanian athletes in various Olympic and non-Olympic sports.
He also lauded achievements of Jordanian sport in recently, especially at the Asian Games last year, in which Jordan achieved the largest number of medals in its history of participations in the Asian Games (Asiad) that amounted to 12 medals (two gold, one silver and nine bronze medals).
Prince Abdulaziz underlined the need to exchange expertise and ideas between the Olympic Preparation Center and the Saudi Leadership Development Center, which is specialized in sports and youth training.
He pointed out that both centers have common goals in developing the performance of athletes and providing them with all services on scientific bases that contribute to achieving regional, international and Olympic achievements.
