(MENAFN- UkrinForm) The Ukrainian Canadian Congress (UCC) congratulated Volodymyr Zelensky on his victory in Ukraine's presidential election, and also thanked Petro Poroshenko for his contributions to the development of Ukraine.
UCC National President Alexandra Chyczij said this in a statement , an Ukrinform correspondent reported.
"I congratulate VolodymyrZelensky on his victory and the strong mandate he received from the Ukrainian people.I thank outgoing President Petro Poroshenko for his service to Ukraine and his contributions to a strong and democratic Ukraine, she said.
'The Ukrainian people have affirmed their historic choice of Euro-Atlantic integration for their country. We look forward to working with President-elect Zelensky's administration in furthering these strategic goals,' she stressed.
According to Chyczij, the Ukrainian Canadian Congress will continue to support Ukraine in the face of Russian aggression and threats to territorial integrity, as well as to ongoing reforms, which will be the focus of the Ukraine Reform Conference this July in Toronto.
As reported, the second round of Ukraine's presidential elections was held on April 21. According to the results of the Central Election Commission's processing of 100% of electronic protocols, Volodymyr Zelensky won the presidential elections as he garnered 73.22% of the vote. 24.45% of Ukrainians cast their votes for incumbent President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.
A total of 18,491,840 Ukrainians took part in the voting.
