Weapons seized in violence crackdown operations by UK police

(MENAFN) Bexley Police have committed to reducing knife crime across the borough as part of the Met Police's crackdown on violence in the capital.

Officers in several wards within Bexley are conducting weapons sweeps to seize and destroy dangerous items that could cause serious damage.

The force in Cray Meadows announced on Tuesday it was patrolling the streets to confiscate knives and other weapons.

In a tweet, the force said "the team, along with other South Cluster colleagues, will be patrolling the South Cluster today as part of the MPS Knife Crime Initiative."
