Qatar- QIB celebrates Earth Day 2019

Qatar Islamic Bank (QIB), marked Earth Day 2019 by distributing 600 free plants, to its customers in collaboration with Al Sulaiteen Agricultural and Industrial Complex (SAIC), as part of its community support program. The celebration highlights the bank's efforts and contribution to the sustainability scene in Qatar.

In line with Earth Day, one of the largest civic-focused day action globally, the plants were given away in six key branches, namely Corporate branch, Salwa road branch, Al Gharafa branch (Q-Mall), Sheikh Abdulla Bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center (Fanar) branch, Al Sadd branch and the Al Rayan branch.

Commenting on the occasion Mashaal Abdulaziz Al Derham, Assistant General Manager, Head of Corporate Communications & Quality Assurance at QIB said, 'QIB's management and employees takes pride in participating in Earth Day 2019. As QIB is a leader within the Islamic Financial industry, we have a duty to our community and our country Qatar to raise awareness about pollution, carbon emission, and waste. She added, 'The Bank will continue to diversify its well fare projects, in the aim of giving back to our community and enhance our corporate social responsibility role.

As QIB contributes to social change to leave behind healthier surroundings for future generations to come, it continues to align its activities and services with global initiatives as part of its commitment to the Qatar community and environment.

On this occasion, QIB aims to inspire people to accustom to this day and support ongoing initiatives by companies and other individual efforts to conform with Earth Day annually.
2019 marks the 49th year since the launch of the Earth Day concept.
