Arab humanitarian chief praises Kuwait's relief efforts


(MENAFN- Kuwait News Agency (KUNA)) KUWAIT, April 23 (KUNA) -- President of Arab Red Crescent and Cross Organization (ARCO) Dr Saleh Al-Suhaibani lauded Tuesday Kuwait's humanitarian efforts and the generous initiatives of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber AlSabah.

Al-Suhaibani made his remarks to KUNA on the sidelines of the 44th meeting of Arab Organization for Red Crescent and Red Cross, which concludes today.

He said that the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society (KRCS) is helping the victims in various countries of the world, and has contributed through its various charitable activities in highlighting the human face of the Kuwaiti government and people.

He stressed the importance of fast intervention to work disaster relief, and the need to take measures to reduce the effects of the disasters.

He underlined the importance of solidarity of Arab societies in the humanitarian field, noting that the meeting takes place at a time when several countries in the region are witnessing challenges that require strengthening cooperation and coordinating efforts to provide the necessary assistance.

He called on the National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies to cooperate and coordinate to provide effective humanitarian assistance for those affected and in need of humanitarian relief.

The 44th meeting of Arab Organization for Red Crescent and Red Cross, which is held in Kuwait over two days, discusses the humanitarian situation in a number of countries affected by humanitarian crises, and the role of associations concerned with providing support to displaced people and refugees, especially in Arab countries.
