Ancient culture samples discovered in Jalilabad [PHOTO]

Ancient culture samples have been discovered in the Jalilabad region of the country.

They includestone tools, household items and even a stone with a special image that was used at the time by the leader of the tribe when exchanging letters, Report.az informed.

The samples were found by local residents in the village of Shatyrly during the demolition of an old house.

Experts note thatsimilar objects were found on the territory of Altai and Eastern Anatolia. The image on one of the finds resembles the rock paintings in Gobustan.

The historian Elshad Amanov believes that the samples of material culture are7,000-8,000 years old. Archeological finds will be transferred to the Jalilabad Museum of History and Local Lore.

Jalilabad is one of the ancient regions of Azerbaijan, which hides many secrets under the ground. During numerous excavations carried out in the territory of the region, scientists discovered a number of archaeological findings of great historic importance.

In 2016, scientists revealed an ancient temple during an expedition in the Gullutepe village of the region. A lot of jewelry and ancienttools belonging to the Neolithic period were also discovered during the excavations. This is the oldest temple found not only in the territory of Azerbaijan, but in the whole Caucasus.

Also, cultural samples related to the Middle Ages were found in the country's southern regionthis January. After the excavations, human bones and household items were discovered.
