Sri Lanka: death toll of multiple blasts climbs to 310


(MENAFN) The police declared that the fatality number of a series of blasts which rattled Sri Lanka on Sunday has increased to 310 with at least 500 more wounded.

Another huge blast took place in Kochchikade in the capital Colombo on Monday evening when the Bomb Disposal Squad was trying to defuse a bombing device discovered in a dumped vehicle, however, no victims have been reported.

Police spokesperson Ruwan Gunasekara confirmed that till now 26 suspects have been nabbed from across the country and search missions were underway to detain more suspects.

He added that security would continue the operation across the island country and advised people to refrain from gathering in public places.
