Number of passengers in Morocco's airports reaches over 5.5 million in Q1 of 2019


(MENAFN) The number of passengers traveling through Moroccan airports touched 5.6 million in the first quarter of 2019, up 9.6 percent year on year, the Moroccan Airports Authority (ONDA) emphasized Monday.

Morocco's largest airport, Casablanca international airport, received 2.2 million passengers, approximately 40 percent of total air traffic between January and March, ONDA stated in a statement.

The number of passengers passing through the airports of tourist hubs of Marrakech and Agadir rose by 20 percent and 11 percent, respectively.

In March alone, more than two million people traveled through Moroccan airports, an upsurge of 10.5 percent compared to the same month of 2018, according to ONDA.
