In the last Iranian year (March 21, 2018-March 20, 2019), 119 tons of fish were bred in Delijan county of Iran's Markazi province, said Saeed Burji, the head of Delijan Agricultural Jihad Organization, Trend reports via IRNA.
Of the fish bred in Delijan, 92 tons accounted to Salmonidae, 25 tons - to Cypriniformes (carps etc.), and only two tons accounted to sturgeon.
Saeed Burji noted that in the last Iranian year, fish breeding in the county increased by 1.5 tons compared to the preceding year.
In the last Iranian year 112,000 decorative fish were bred in Delijan, he said.
Total exports of Delijan amounted to $30 million in the last Iranian year.
