Male, April 22 (newsin.asia): The ruling Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) has condemned, "in the strongest terms", and notes with deep shock and sadness the loss of over 200 innocent lives in the heinous terrorist attack in Sri Lanka today.
The coordinated bomb attacks specifically targeted worshippers attending Easter church services and multiple other targets across Sri Lanka, including popular tourist high- end hotels.
The MDP strongly condemns acts of terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. We are deeply aggrieved that the attacks targeted places of worship; such attacks create insurmountable divisions and fear amongst societies, and such hatred and violence have no place in democratic and diverse societies such as Sri Lanka. This is an attack on all peace- loving people of Sri Lanka.
The MDP offers heartfelt condolences to the bereaved loved ones of the shameful attacks. The MDP remains in solidarity with Sri Lanka and pray for fortitude for the people and Government of Sri Lanka in this difficult time.
