Dubai Future Academy Announces new set of knowledge initiatives

DUBAI, 21st April, 2019 (WAM) -- The Dubai Future Academy has announced the launch of the second Ramadan Pioneer Series, to take place during the Holy Month of Ramadan.

In an open discussion format with the audience, the series aims to share knowledge and expertise from pioneers and thought leaders, working on innovative and futuristic ideas. Speakers range from ministers, government and private representatives, startups and academia.

The list of speakers for this year's Ramadan Pioneer Series include, Noura bint Mohammed Al Kaabi, Minister of Culture and Knowledge Development; Sheikh Dr. Abdulaziz bin Ali bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, CEO of Al Ihsan Charity Association; Dr. Maryam Matar, Founder and Chairperson, UAE Genetic Diseases Association; Dr. Fatma Taher, Assistant Dean in the College of Technological Innovation and CEO of Happiness and Wellbeing at Zayed University; Omran Sharaf, Emirates Mars Mission Project Manager at the Mohammed bin Rashid Space Center; Eng. Rashad Bukhash, Chairman of the Architectural Heritage Society, along with others.

These sessions will be held during the evenings and weekends at the first 3D printed office, Office of the Future, which houses the Dubai Future Academy. This year's series offers a unique experience for participants by providing an opportunity to not only attend, but also to discuss the topics in an informal majlis setting, alongside industry experts and like-minded individuals.

Regarding this year's programme, Saeed Al Gergawi, Director of Dubai Future Academy said, "This year, the Ramadan Pioneer Series will shed light on a number of developments and future trends that will have a clear impact on the future of the UAE and the world. During the holy month of Ramadan, the series will allow speakers to talk about their experiences and have an open discussion with the audience on challenges, opportunities and enablers that are being presented by emerging technologies".

The Academy also announced the launch of the second edition of the 3D Printing and Robotics Summer Camp, which aims to introduce various applications and technologies of 3D design and printing, robotics and programming, along with soft skills such as critical thinking and team work to students between ages 12 and 20, in order to empower them to lead the development process in the future.

Through the application, participants will be able to select their favourite topics, be notified on the availability of courses and receive better recommendations based upon previous attendance, hence enhancing their experience at the Academy.
