Mexico warns of migrant abuse on borders

(MENAFN) Mexico raised grave alarm over a possible abuse rebels guarding the U.S. border are inflicting against immigrants.

In a statement, the Mexican Foreign Affairs Ministry stressed that the anti-migrant rebels are using threats in New Mexico that could "trample the human rights of people who migrate or apply for asylum."

The ministry added "the Mexican government expresses its deep concern given the intimidation and extortion measures against migrants by militia groups at the New Mexico border."

U.S. media reported on Friday that a militia group seized around 300 illegal immigrants who entered the U.S. close to Sunland Park in New Mexico.
