Ireland police nab 2 boys over reporter's murder

(MENAFN) Police Service of Northern Ireland declared that two boys have been nabbed under the Terrorism Act linked to reporter Lyra McKee's murder.

Detective Superintendent Jason Murphy confirmed that they detained the two boys, aged 18 and 19, under the Terrorism Act and carried out scores of searches as part of the underway probe into Lyra's slaying.

Murphy added: "Shortly before 11 pm on Thursday night, 29 year old Lyra was murdered by terrorists. I believe that the people responsible are members of the new IRA."

Terrorists were "lurking in the shadows", according to Murphy, alerting: "What we are seeing is a new breed of terrorist coming through the ranks and that for me is a very worrying situation."
