Tourism arrivals in Tunisia jump 17.4 percent

(MENAFN) Tunisia recorded a 17.4 percent boost in the number of its tourism arrivals to welcome 592,000 visitors from January to March 2019, the Ministry of Tourism announced.

Meanwhile, hard currency tourism revenues registered a significant 35.1 percent surge to stand at USD262.6 million during the first quarter of the year, the ministry revealed.

These increases are attributed to a massive turnover of traditional European markets along with a hike in applications to the Tunisian destinations, explained Minister of Tourism Rene Trabelsi.

During the first three months of the year, Tunisia received 496,000 Algerian guests to come at the top of the list within the region, while welcoming 473,000 Libyans.
