Sri Lanka: accidental landmine blast severely wounds 2 female workers


(MENAFN) Local media revealed that female de-mining laborers have been critically wounded when a landmine suddenly blasted in Muhamalai, Kilinochchi in northern Sri Lankan on Thursday evening.

The victims, working for a Non-Governmental Organization (NGO), were taking part in landmine evacuating missions when a landmine accidentally blasted, leaving them with critical wounds to their heads and chests.

The victims have been taken to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital in the north and are currently being treated in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

The victims are aged 25 and 26.€ƒ
