(MENAFN) The command of Afghan special forces declared that over five militants have died after an air raid in Afghanistan's eastern province of Nangarhar on Thursday.
The corps added: "About five Taliban militants were killed as a result of an airstrike conducted by the Afghan National Army Special Operations Corps (ANASOC) in Achin district, Nangarhar province."
It confirmed that there were no fatalities on security forces and civilians' side in the air attack in the province, 120 km east of the country's capital of Kabul.
The Afghan security forces, supported by the NATO-led coalition troops, have stepped up ground and air attacks against militants within the past few months as spring and summer called as the battling season is coming closer in the country.
