(MENAFN- Gulf Times) Al Sadd's Akram Afif has been named as the QNB Stars League's best player for the months of March and April, 2019.
Akram scored four goals and gave three assists in four matches (Weeks 19, 20, 21 and 22) of QNB Stars League during the period, playing crucial roles in the victories against Al Sailiya (2-0), Al Ahli (7-2) and Umm Salal (6-1). The Wolves played out a 2-2 draw with Al Duhail in Week 20.
The wily striker had bagged the best-player award in the month of February, 2019, as well.
Akram, who was a key member of Qatar's Asian Cup-winning squad early this year, also emerged as the 2018-19 QNB Stars League's second-best scorer with 26 goals, a feat he shared with Al Duhail's Moroccan striker Yousef El Arabi.
Akram's Al Sadd teammate Baghdad Bounedjah (39 goals) topped the list.
The technical analysis of Akram released by STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League, showed he spent 388.0 minutes on the pitch.
Meanwhile, Al Sadd's Jesualdo Ferreira has been adjudged the QNB Stars League's best coach for the months of March and April.
Under the Portuguese, Al Sadd played four matches in the 2018-19 season QNB Stars League's Weeks 19, 20, 21 and 22, and won three of them, collecting 10 of the 12 points on offer. They drew one match.
The Wolves' victories were against Al Sailiya (2-0), Al Ahli (7-2) and Umm Salal (6-1). Al Sadd were held to a 2-2 draw by Al Duhail in Week 20.
The three wins helped Al Sadd stay on top of the QNB Stars League standings and they were crowned as the 2018-19 champions following their win over Al Ahli in Week 21. Ferreira's men took an unassailable lead with one match to spare. They eventually finished with 57 points and scored a whopping 100 goals in the tournament.
During the period, Al Sadd scored 17 goals while conceding five, with 37 shots on target and 19 against it, according to STATS, the official statistics and figures provider for the QNB Stars League.
