Iraq: roadside bomb blast injures 17 soldiers in Fallujah

(MENAFN) On Tuesday, at least 17 Iraqi soldiers were injured in a roadside bomb blast in Iraq's central city of Fallujah, a military and a medical source emphasized.

A roadside bomb was exploded close to an Iraqi army convoy in al-Nuaimiya area in southern Fallujah, nearly 50 km west of the capital Baghdad, wounding 17 soldiers and destroying their vehicle, an Iraqi army source informed Xinhua on condition of secrecy.

The source did not affirm whether the bomb was lately put or left by the extremist Islamic State (IS) terrorists who were formerly dislodged from Fallujah during the major attacks by the Iraqi forces.

A medical source from the Fallujah Hospital informed Xinhua that 17 soldiers with different wounds were admitted to the hospital to receive needed medical treatment on Tuesday.
