Yemen: 8 Houthi rebels killed in Hodeidah


(MENAFN) On Monday, at least eight fighters of the Houthi group were murdered during an attack launched against Yemeni government forces in the Red Sea port city of Hodeidah, a military official informed Xinhua.

In a new military escalation, the Houthi fighters launched an attack against several government-held military locations in Durayhmi district south of Hodeidah province, the local military source affirmed on condition of secrecy.

He emphasized that the government forces managed to repulse the Houthi attack in Durayhmi, leaving eight rebels murdered after fierce armed conflicts sparked in the region.

In the meantime, the official military spokesperson stated in a statement that bombardment conducted by Houthi fighters murdered one soldier of the joint pro-government forces and wounded five others in the same district of Durayhmi.
