U.S. to hold Maduro responsible for Venezuela's crisis

(MENAFN) U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said the United States will use all economic and political tools it has to hold Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro responsible for his country's crisis and will clarify to Cuba and Russia they will pay a price for supporting him.

Maduro blames U.S. sanctions for the country's economic problems and condemns opposition leader Juan Guaido as a U.S. puppet.

Over 3 million Venezuelans have fled hyperinflation, food and medicine shortages and political crisis.

Pompeo said: "The United States will continue to utilize every economic and political means at our disposal to help the Venezuelan people."
