(MENAFN) Strong storms have ripped across the southern United States after tornadoes and flooding claimed 6 lives, with 3 children among them.
About 90,000 people suffered from electricity cutoffs in Texas, Mississippi, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Georgia as of midday on Sunday, as bad weather conditions caused string of devastation.
Two children have died on a back road in East Texas when a pine tree collapsed on to the car in which they were inside during a serious thunderstorm on Saturday near Pollok, about 240km southeast of Dallas.
The tree "flattened the car like a pancake", according to Captain Alton Lenderman of the Angelina County Sheriff's Office.
