S.Korea sees trade surplus for 7 years to March


(MENAFN) South Korea has recorded trade surplus for 86 straight months through March as export stayed in a high level.

The adjusted figure for trade surplus reached USD5.2 billion in March, making profits for 86 months since February 2012.

Export fell 8.2 percent last month from a year earlier, but it floated around a relatively high level at USD47.1 billion, while import reduced 6.7 percent to USD41.9 billion dollars in the same period.

The drop in export came on lower price for semiconductors, of which export slipped 16.2 percent in March from a year ago.
