Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani met at the Ritz-Carlton Hotel yesterday with each of the Chairman of the European Parliament's Subcommittee on Human Rights Pier Antonio Panzeri; the Chairperson of the Global Alliance of National Human Rights Institutions, Carlos Negret Mosquera; the Minister of Justice of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Dr Bassam Al Talhouni, the Head of the International, Impartial and Independent Mechanism to Assist in the Investigation and Prosecution of Persons Responsible for the Most Serious Crimes under International Law Committed in Syria, Catherine Marchi-Uhel; on the occasion of the International Conference on National, Regional and International Mechanisms to Combat Impunity and Ensure Accountability under International Law, currently in session in Doha.
The meetings reviewed the cooperation relations between the State of Qatar and these bodies in the fields of promotion of human rights, the fight against impunity, the development of the values of legal accountability, as well as issues of mutual interest, especially those on the agenda of the Conference.
