NHRC Chairman meets dignitaries attending conference on combating impunity

The Chairman of the National Human Rights Committee, Dr Ali bin Smaikh Al Marri, yesterday met separately with a number of officials participating in the international conference on national, regional and international mechanisms to combat impunity and ensure accountability under international law. The NHRC Chief met with the Minister of Justice of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Dr. Bassam Talhouni, Minister of Women's Rights of the Republic of Somalia, Diqah Haji, and Salahaddin Mentes, Deputy Minister of Justice of the Republic of Turkey, Catherine Marchi-Uhel , President of the International Impartial and Independent Mechanism to assist in the investigation and prosecution of persons responsible for the most serious crimes under international law committed in Syria, Chairman of the European Parliament Subcommittee on Human Rights, Antonio Panzeri, Chairperson of the Global Alliance of National Institutions Dr. Carlos Alfonso Negret Mosquera, and Head of the Regional Mission of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) States of the International Red Cross, Yahya Alibi.
