RAS AL KHAIMAH, 14th April, 2019 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ras Al Khaimah, yesterday witnessed the group wedding of 84 Emirati couples, sponsored by Jawaan Mubarak Fadhel Al Mazrouei and held in the Albayt Mitwahid Hall, Adhen.
Sheikh Saud bin Saqr shook the hands of the grooms and congratulated them and their families, wishing them a happily family life.
The group wedding was attended by Sheikh Khalid bin Saud bin Saqr Al Qasimi, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Investment and Development Office, along with Sheikhs, senior officials, dignitaries and tribal members.
Jawaan Al Mazrouei said that holding group weddings in the UAE is a good initiative, which was started by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and continued by the wise leadership, while explaining that the goal of the weddings is to limit the cost of marriages and prevent spinsterhood, as well as to give the youth hope, encourage them to marry Emirati women, and decrease expenses for grooms and their parents.
The grooms thanked Sheikh Saud for attending and honouring the group wedding, while praising the keenness of the UAE's wise leadership to share the joys of the country's citizens at every occasion, and affirming that such events will increase social cohesion, decrease the burdens caused by marriage costs on the Emirati people, and help build a cohesive Emirati family.
