UAE- Ministry of Foreign Affairs holds second political consultation meeting with Dutch counterpart

ABU DHABI, 11th April, 219 (WAM) -- The second political consultation meeting between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and its counterpart in the Netherlands was held on 10th April, 2019, in the Hague.

The UAE delegation was headed by Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation for Political Affairs, while the Dutch side was led by Andre Haspels, Director-General of Political Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands.

During the meeting, both sides highlighted their regional stances and political cooperation, as well as several issues of common interest, most notably their economic cooperation and their efforts to create opportunities in the areas of trade, investment, counter-terrorism, combating extremism and climate change. The UAE delegation also noted the country's efforts to achieve sustainable development in the areas of education and women's empowerment, as well as to offer assistance and aid to friendly countries.

Al Marar stressed the importance of the current round of consultations to strengthening the cooperation between the two countries in various mutual causes. Both sides also agreed to continue enhancing their bilateral relations with regional and international organisations, which will help to solve regional and international issues and challenges.
