Oman- Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup: Ahmad hopes for a successful start

(MENAFN- Muscat Daily) Oman's Ahmad al Harthy hopes for a successful start to the 2019 season when he along with his teammates, Charlie Eastwood and Salih Yoluc, compete in their Aston Martin Vantage GT3 car in the first round of the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup at Monza, Italy from April 12-14.

Returning to the Pro-Am class this season, Ahmad will be reminded of his success at the same venue in the same class in 2017.

Ahmad is looking for repeat success and is buoyed by the team's latest generation Aston Martin and a strong pre-season display under the guidance of TF Sport.

This will be Ahmad's seventh participation in the prestigious championship.

'It's always incredible to race at Monza, the track has so much history and obviously holds very happy memories for everyone at Oman Racing,' said Ahmad.

'I'm delighted to be back in Pro-Am this season after a year in the Silver class, and I'm confident Charlie, Salih and I can put together a very competitive challenge this season.

'The new Aston Martin is an amazing car and we've been making big steps with the guys at TF Sport to develop and enhance our set-up. Since we first raced it in the Gulf 12 Hours back in

December, there has been a lot of work completed and our Blancpain pre-season has been very rewarding.'

Nearly 50 cars are set to line-up on the grid at Monza with the Pro-Am class, featuring teams from Aston Martin, Ferrari, Mercedes, Bentley, Lamborghini and Audi stables across the five-event season.
