Morocco seeks to raise USD30b for energy sector

(MENAFN) Morocco set a target to raise USD30 billion over eleven years to back its energy sector, announced Moroccan politician Aziz Rabbah.

This target was set in support of Morocco's plan to inject 10GW of renewable capacity along with constructing a liquefied natural gas plant.

Speaking to The National, Rabbah noted "between 2017 and 2022, we have around $13bn but for 2030 it will be more than $30bn of investment coming from both public and private sectors and coming from many countries."

He further added that the country has its sights on various countries for investments, including Saudi Arabia, the UAE, France and Spain.
