(MENAFN) Oman's Ministry of Oil and Gas is awarding an onshore Block 12 exploration contract to French oil and gas giant Total.
Total and the Omani government penned a heads of agreement (HoA), granting the French giant a working interest and operatorship of 100 percent for the block.
Both Total and Oman will be completing within the next months the contract for the block, which holds massive gas resources potential.
It was announced that the first well in the onshore block, which covers 10,000 km2, has been set for drilling by next year.
