IT WAS not surprising for the
United States of America to declare the Iranian Revolutionary Guard as a
terrorist organization. This is due to the fact that it is the force behind
every dirty operation that the Iranian agents have been executing in the region
and the world, and even locally against Iranian elements.
Therefore, the decisive step
taken by the US to counter organized terrorism was supposed to happen a long
Iran responded in a strikingly
naïve manner through Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy
Commission of the Iranian Parliament Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh who stated that
his country will take reciprocal measures if Washington declares the Islamic
Revolutionary Guard as a terrorist organization.
Iran will put the US Armed Forces
on its blacklist beside 'ISIL', and a bill has been prepared to regard the US
forces and military bases as terrorist areas.
Undoubtedly, the US decision is
bound to be executed. Various countries around the world will abide by it,
while Iran's decision is just for local consumption so it will not have any
impact. This is due to the fact that Iranians, together with different nations
around the world, realized that threats posed by the Mullah regime are futile.
Since 1979, the Mullah regime has
been launching threats. It threatened to destroy the White House and everyone
inside. It even threatened to turn the Arabian Gulf water into a grave for US
soldiers, in addition to other many rhetorical statements in line with adage:
'They showed us with slaps, we showed them with insults.'
The leaders of Iran were
delusional during the term of the previous US administration, thinking they can
benefit from the easygoing mode manifested by president Barrack Obama, and that
they are able to reestablish their position in the international community
through the nuclear deal.
Former president Obama was seen
in the interests intersection between Israel and Iran in the Arabian region in
a manner which could perhaps pave way for Tel Aviv to complete its scheme of
destroying major Arab countries; especially, Iraq, Syria, Egypt and Saudi
This was clearly manifested in
Iran's direct military interference in Iraq, Syria, Yemen and Lebanon; and its
constant attempts to destabilize Saudi Arabia.
The declaration of Tehran's leaders
that they control four Arab capitals was just an episode of the intersection of
interests. However, the reality is that the confrontation in Yemen and the
Arabian Gulf was a huge disappointment after the utter failure to prove their
control over those capitals.
Despite the prolonged war, the
Revolutionary Guard, through the Houthi rebels, did not advance on the ground.
In fact, they are still in the same narrow geographical square.
Since the dimension of Iran's
game was clear in Syria, Damascus sought alliance with Russia which has no plan
to change the religious culture of Syrians as the case with Iran; while Iraq is
currently sweeping out the dust of Iranian interference by turning towards the
Arabs and reinstating its pan-Arabism.
Perhaps, Lebanon is a clearer
model of this destructive Iranian game and serving Israel's interests. The
divine victory, which the Hezbollah militia was babbling about together with
Tehran after the 2006 war, turned out to be divine punishment for the Iranian
This is reflected in the
magnitude of destruction and number of victims in that war.
The outcome of all these events
and incidents is the Iranian boogieman which did not quench Tehran's thirst for
recording a victory, even if it is illusionary, in any confrontation.
Therefore, the response of the
Mullah regime to the US decision is just a bounced cheque; or rather, it is
nothing more than babbling of the sick. On the other hand, the entire world, in
the future, will deal with the Revolutionary Guard based on its status as a
