Oak Park, Illinois-based touring singer/songwriter Jenny Bienemann releases her first-ever photograph and haiku project: " Haiku Milieu: Photographs and Haiku For You, Wherever You Are " in book, audiobook, e-book and soundtrack formats. The book, released in December 2018 and currently available on Amazon, completely sold out in its first run and tripled its initial sales estimates.

The Release Concert debuts the accompanying audiobook and soundtrack, and features award-winning artist Jenny Bienemann and more than 20 outstanding local singer/songwriters at FitzGerald's Nightclub , 6615 W. Roosevelt Road in Berwyn on Thursday, May 16 at 7:30 pm.

Tickets are $20 and a portion of each ticket sale benefits The Chicago Lighthouse , a social service organization providing comprehensive care to the blind, visually impaired, disabled and Veteran communities. Tickets are available at www.fitzgeraldsnightclub.com and the venue.

"Restoring a sense of wonder in the world by finding the extraordinary in the everyday is my mission as an artist," says Bienemann.

Bienemann, a veteran singer/songwriter with five critically acclaimed albums ventures into new territory with the Haiku Milieu photos and audiobook.

Bienemann's photos bring a new visual artistic layer to her writing. Inspired by dear friends experiencing vision loss, Bienemann created the audiobook to improve their access to the visual arts. The audiobook features Bienemann reading her haiku, describing her photo, and then reading her haiku again.

While the typical audiobook shares just the words of the book, the Haiku Milieu audiobook invites the listener to join Bienemann in the creative process, summoning their own images as the photo is described, encountering the haiku from the lens of their own imagination, and communing with the music.

The talented singer/songwriters who wrote and will perform an original song based on a photo and haiku from Haiku Milieu include: Robin Bienemann, Naomi Ashley,
Steve Dawson, Joe Dempsey, Gerald Dowd, Rachel Drew, Sue Fink,
Joe Fournier and David Walker, Kate FitzGerald, Jeanne Kuhns, Ron Lazzeretti,
Deborah Maris Lader, Last Acre, Matthew and Christina Marie, Jimm McIver, Bruce Roper, Jodi Walker, and Terry White.

Seating for the concert is limited. Advance ticket sales are encouraged.

Haiku Milieu was supported in part by a generous grant from the Illinois Arts Council. (http://www.arts.illinois.gov/)
