Saudi- KSRelief MASAM Project Removes 1,229 Mines During the Fourth Week of March 2019

Riyadh, April 06, 2019, SPA -- During the fourth week of March 2019, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center's MASAM Project removed more than 1,229 mines, including 28 anti-personnel mines, 738 anti-tank mines, 448 unexploded munitions, and 15 improvised explosive devices. The total number of mines and explosive devices which were removed is 6,647 during the last March.
Since the start of the MASAM project, 52,777 mines planted by the Iranian-backed Houthi militias in Yemen have been removed, in spite of Houthis attempts to hide the mines in various forms, colors, and methods. The mines resulting in the death of a large number of children, women and the elderly as well as serious injuries and amputation of organs.
