Kuwait- Arab Biennale prizewinners list announced

KUWAIT, April 2 (KUNA) -- Suad Al-Sabah Biennale award's arbitration committee declared on Wednesday that seven Arab fine artists won the prize for 2019.
In a ceremony held by Kuwait Fine Arts Association to honor the winners of Arabs and Kuwaitis, the artists were namely Suleiman Haidar and Atared Al-Thaqeb from Kuwait, Salah Geith from Libya, Rania Gad from Egypt, Sadeq Ghaleb from Yemen, Mohammad Hamoud from Tunisia and Fuad Shardodi from Morocco.
In a speech during the ceremony, Sheikha Suad Al-Sabah said she was honored to support and sponsor this award since its launching, adding that she believes that "innovation is the green carpet which brings us closer together".
She noted the association has supported Kuwaiti arts for more than 50 years, adding that "Kuwait has been the cradle of every artist and creator." Meanwhile, the association's head Abdulrasol Suleiman said the institution invited some fine artists from the Arab world to take part in the event.
The invitation was sent upon directives by Suad Al-Sabah so as to promote this art, he said, adding that the artists held a workshop and contributed to promoting artistic images.
The event, which kicked off March 29, included 52 male and female artists from Kuwait and Arab countries. (end) shd.tb.hm
