Bulgarian customs confiscates 20 tons of smuggled alcohol

(MENAFN) The National Customs Agency (NCA) declared that Bulgarian customs at the Danube Bridge checkpoint near Vidin at the border with Romania have captured 19,360 liters of alcohol.

The NCA added that the liquid was discovered on Sunday evening in a truck, which was reported to be bearing professional floor cleaner from Bulgaria to the Netherlands.

The NCA confirmed that investigations with a densitometer showed that the 88 plastic containers which can bear up to 220 liters each had 96.6-degree ethyl alcohol inside.

Bulgaria has been popular for being a center of alcohol smuggling due to its location.
