Tunis, March 30, 2019, SPA -- Tunisian officials, politicians, academics and media officials hailed the three projects launched by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and the President of Tunisia Beji Caid Essebsi at the Carthage Palace in Tunis yesterday. Awqaf bin Nafie and the ancient city of Kairouan, the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud project for the restoration of Al-Zaytouna Al-Mamoor Mosque and the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud University Hospital in Kairouan.
In a statement to the Saudi Press Agency (SPA), Member of Tunisian House of Representatives El-Hadi Soula confirmed that the visit of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud to Tunisia would set a new pillar in the relations between Tunisia and Saudi Arabia.
Soula addaed that the construction of King Salman University Hospital in the city of Kairouan will fulfill the needs for citizens for medication.
For his part, the regional director of religious affairs in the city of Kairouan Kamal Hawas praised the actual launch of major projects provided by the Kingdom to Tunisia, stressing that the project of the King Salman University Hospital in Kairouan will serve the whole area, pointing out that the renovation project of the historic Oqba bin Nafie Mosque was long awaited by the inhabitants of the city of Kairouan and Tunisia in general.
For her part, Director of satellite website Reem Shaker confirmed that the people of Kairouan are waiting to start the implementation of the King Salman Hospital for a long time, noting that the total area of the hospital is 15 hectares and cost about $ 85 million.
She added that the hospital will be a source of pride for the city as well as for the surrounding cities, provide all the medical specialties.
It is worth noting that the importance of this project lies not only in its religious and cultural symbolism, but also in its role in revitalizing economic life.
