Libya: IS militants kill 1, abduct 3 in Ghadwa

(MENAFN) On Monday, suspected militants of the Islamic State (IS) murdered a civilian and abducted three others in southern Libya, a security source stated.

"Gunmen in three vehicles attacked the town of Ghadwa and raided a number of civilian houses. The reasons for the attack are still unknown," a source of the security directorate of the southern city of Sabha informed Xinhua.

Ghadwa, the biggest southern Libyan city, is situated 65 km southeast of Sabha.

Libya's eastern-based army has been conducting a military campaign against terrorism and crime in the south since mid-January.
