MENAFN- Asia Times) A 13-foot king cobra was captured in a house in India after residents called the local snake helpline. The highly venomous snake was spotted at a house in Bhagabanpur village in Ganjam, Odisha, the Odisha Sun Times reported on March 25.
The residents of the house called the local Snake Helpline, which immediately sent people to help. It took about half an hour to capture the snake in difficult conditions. The large reptile was eventually released into nearby jungle.
The king cobra is the longest venomous snake in the world. Adult king cobras are usually about 10 to 13 feet long. It is native to South and Southeast Asia and in India, it is the national reptile.
