Qatar- Rawdat Al Khail health centre to start emergency unit on April 7


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The emergency unit at Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre will start functioning from April, the Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC) has announced.
Director of the Northern Region of PHCC Health Centres, Dr Nada al-Emadi told a a press conference yesterday that the Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre will open the urgent cases service on April 7. She said, the unit will provide services round-the-clock services on all days of the week and pointed out that the services will cover adults, and urgent cases, especially fractures and minor burns.
Al-Emadi stressed that the services provided by Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre are not new, but have been activated in five centres, namely Al Shamal, Al Kaaban, Al Shahaniyah, Al Gharafa and Abu Bakr Al Siddiq, pointing out that Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre was chosen to provide this service due to the large number of patients registered with the centre.
Al-Emadi added that a similar emergency unit is expected to be opened at Muaither health centre later this year, while other centres such as Al Thumama, Leabaib and Umm Salal will provide this service next year. She also noted the possibility of increasing the working hours at Abu Bakr Al Siddiq Centre, as at present this service ends at the end of the official working hours.
Al-Emadi said: 'Children's reception would be extended in all centres with emergency units in the near future.
Director of the Central Region of PHCC Health Centres, Dr Fathia al-Meer, said that the aim of the service is to accommodate the urgent cases and provide them with comprehensive and urgent service 24/7, stating that the service is provided by a selection of the qualified doctors specialised in handling emergency cases.
Director of Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre Dr Abdullah Alnaama said that the centre, the medical staff and all the departments are ready to receive urgent cases and deal with them in a professional manner to relieve the pressure on HMC emergency Unit.
Rawdat Al Khail Health Centre also offers preventive and curative services such as vaccinations and mental health services, cancer screening services, physiotherapy, dermatology clinics, family medicine clinics, vaccination clinics, non-communicable diseases clinic, antenatal care clinic, healthy child clinic, ear, nose and throat clinic, dental clinic and ophthalmology clinic.
The centre serves the areas of Fereij Abdul Aziz, Bin Mahmoud, Al Najma, Al Mansoura and Al Muntazah areas.
