Health Minister inaugurates Qatar's International Medical and Health Exhibition


(MENAFN- Gulf Times) HE Minister of Public Health Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari inaugurated the second Qatar's International Medical and Health Exhibition (QMED) held at Qatar National Convention Centre (QNCC) with more the 40 companies specialized in medical equipment from 12 countries participating.

The exhibition will provide communication opportunities between local and international companies in the sector, as well as showcase the latest medical equipment. It will also highlighted the latest healthcare trends and developments in Qatar.

The three-day exhibition, sponsored by the Ministry of Public Health, will be held on a total area of up to 5,000 square meters and specialized workshops with the participation of about 500 doctors in all medical specialties.

It aims to exchange experiences, identify medical developments and discoveries in the health care sector, provide better treatment services, support activities that lay the foundations for a healthy and strong society and encourage innovation in healthcare in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Chair of the Healthcare Communications Committee at the ministry Ali Abdullah Al Khater said events such as this has great importance in developing the infrastructure and services in the health sector. It is a key pillar for countries with regards to the development of the health sector infrastructure, he added.

Al Khater said the Ministry of Public Health's sponsorship of this important event stems from its keenness to familiarize itself with all that is new in the field of medicine and to communicate with those interested in health care and medical devices, in order to support the quality of health services and positively reflect the patient's service.

Manager of Sogha Exhibitions and Conferences Khalifa bin Salman Al Mohannadi said the event attracted leading names in the sector making it an important and appropriate platform to exchange expertise and discussed on the healthcare sector, as well as the latest technical innovations and best procedures, he added.

QMED brings more than exhibitors from countries including Qatar, Turkey, the United States, Switzerland, Thailand and the United Kingdom all in Doha to showcase the latest technologies in the medical sector.

The ministry sponsors the exhibition and the conference as part of its keenness to support all initiatives aimed at achieving further development in the health sector within the national goals set by the National Health Strategy 2018-2022 and related to strengthening the health system governance including increasing the share of the private sector in the healthcare market by 25 percent.
