(MENAFN- Gulf Times) The Qatar Cricket Association (QCA) successfully organised a three-day Basic Cricket Coaching Course at the Qatar Olympic Committee Tower here with over 30 participants.
The course is a part of the International Cricket Council's (ICC) wide-ranging plan to increase the number of future instructors worldwide and aimed at providing basic understanding to the participants about various components in the game.
QCA president Yousef Jeham al-Kuwari thanked the ICC for involving the national body into its popular schemes and drives to promote the sport. He said, 'The QCA is always eager to extend its whole-hearted cooperation to the ICC in nurturing the game. Indeed, we're proud to say that we've always tried our best to contribute towards raising the standard of the game. As a result, we're rapidly rising through the ranks in the world.
QCA Operations manager Manzoor Ahmad said, 'I want to thank all the instructors, participants for their commitment and those who helped us in organising this course, including Mr Jamshaid Ahmad. Also we'd be looking for more such ICC programmes in future.
The course was conducted under the supervision of Shivani Mishra and Omran Hussain. As many as 31 participants, including women, attended the lectures and enriched their knowledge. All the participants were presented with certificates of appreciation.
