Mongolia steps up efforts to boost tourism


(MENAFN) Mongolia is accelerating its efforts to strengthen the tourism sector and lure an increased number of tourism arrivals.

For this bid, Mongolia is launching a massive folk art festival in Dundgovi, starting August 9 and ending August 11, announced head of the province's department of education, culture and art, Tsagaan-Uvgun Bumangerel.

According to the chief, Mongolia is looking through the event to promote its folk art on a global scale while expanding its tourism sector.

Bumangerel stated "under the auspices of the Mongolian Ministry of Education, Culture, Science and Sports, our province is working to organize traditional folk art festival called 'The Sun Over the Placid World' at an open-air theater in Ikh Gazriin Chuluu, which is a granite rock mountain range in Gurvansaikhan district of the province."
