(MENAFN) General Motors (GM) is planning an investment of USD300 million at its Orion assembly plant in the U.S. state of Michigan to make a new Chevrolet electric vehicle (EV).
The company originally wanted to produce the new electric vehicle outside the United States.
This is part of GM's new commitment to invest a total of USD1.8 billion in its United States manufacturing operations, generating 700 new jobs and supporting 28,000 jobs across six states.
GM Chairman and CEO said: "We are excited to bring these jobs and this investment to the U.S."
