Uganda: 6 die, 8 wounded in road collision

(MENAFN) Savannah Region police spokesperson Paul Kangave revealed Uganda's Luwero district to have been struck with a deadly road accident late Friday.

Speaking to Xinhua, the police spokesperson confirmed six people to have lost their lives and eight others inflicted with wounds in the road accident.

A lorry collided with a commuter taxi causing the deaths, the spokesperson explained, noting that the injured were taken to a government hospital for immediate treatment.

Kangave added "preliminary reports point to reckless driving as the possible cause of the accident. The taxi driver tried to overtake from a prohibited place (sharp bend)."
