Here, in this list, we take a look at the injured players and their replacements or possible replacements.

A pacer short for the defending champions
Lungi Ngidi (CSK)

The defending champions, Chennai Super Kings have suffered a big blow, as they would miss the services of South African pacer Lungi Ngidi.

He has suffered a Grade 2 muscle strain, that has ruled him out for the entire season.

As of now, it isn't sure if he would also miss the upcoming ICC World Cup.

Possible replacements: Kane Richardson, Morne Morkel, Dale Steyn.

A setback for the Knights
Kamlesh Nagarkoti (KKR)

The Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) have always been reliant on youngsters and rookies, who are also in the radar of Indian national selectors.

Unfortunately, the team has suffered a setback as U-19 star and pacer Kamlesh Nagarkoti has been ruled out once again, owing to a foot injury.

In the same light, KKR have announced that rookie Indian pacer Sandeep Warrier would replace him.

KKR's U-19 setback 2.0
Shivam Mavi (KKR)

Following the setback of the U-19 star, KKR suffered another blow in the same category as Indian pacer Shivam Mavi is set to miss the entire season due to a back stress fracture.

Although he had leaked runs at the death, last season, he sure turned out to be KKR's wicket-taking bowler.

Nevertheless, he has been replaced by rookie Indian spinner KC Cariappa.

Anrich Nortje will not be available for KKR
Anrich Nortje (KKR)

KKR's pace department has certainly taken a hit as South Africa's promising pacer Anrich Nortje has also been ruled out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Although KKR do have backup pace options in the form of Lockie Ferguson and Harry Gurney, Nortje provided firepower to the pace attack.
