(MENAFN) Provisional council official Yousuf Ayoubi confirmed the death of ten innocent people and injury of eight others in strikes launched against terrorists in Kunduz, a northern Afghan province.
The council official revealed that "fighting and clashes during a military operation have been ongoing in Taluka, an area some 8 km north of provincial capital Kunduz city within the past days."
The official unveiled "security forces launched airstrikes against militants in Taluka Friday night, but the strikes also caused civilian casualties."
Ayoubi added that a number of terrorists were either dead or wounded amid the airstrikes, noting that locals recovered the bodies of the victims Saturday morning.
