Lebanon to raise energy production by 1,450MW


(MENAFN) Lebanon is seeking to see hikes in the production of energy early next year under a power plan presented by the Energy Ministry.

According to the power plan, Lebanon will be adding 1,450 megawatts to its energy production capacity.

Information Minister Jamal Jarrah confirmed the plan to be including a 1,450 MW energy output injection in the first phase while the second will be a 3,100MW increase.

Following a committee meeting, the ministry assured that it was "very serious about the completion of its work before the next Cabinet meeting."

Under the plan, Lebanon will be able to achieve an 11 percent decline in technical and non-technical waste of electricity.
